helo diagnosing codes
1995 f250 hd 5.8 auto
I just reassembled the engine heads up
replaced exhaust manafolds and engine wiring harness
from a 96 f250 hd. the harness loohed like an exact match.
Truck will not start. It will sputter with either.
pump runs and there is fuel in the rail. I dont have a guage to check pressure.
There is no smell of gas on the plugs.
codes 553,565,558,12
Air management circuit failure
canister purge circuit failure
EGR vacume regulator circuit failure
Did i forget to plug in something ?
Is the wiring harness different from 95 to 96 ??

I'd double check the codes. You should get all three digit codes or all two digit codes, not a mixture of the two. Of the codes you posted, none should be severe enough to prevent the engine from starting. Have you checked compression?

old harness in truck runs but manafold still leaks
I took the 96 harness out and compaired it to my old harness more closely.
It appeared that the pins in the main connector are in different positions than the 1995 connector.
although my 95 harness was partially melted i put it back in and the truck now runs fine.
the reason i took the truck apart was to replace and put gaskets in to make the manafolds stop leaking.
they are still leaking and I am afrad to tork the bolts any more.
any suggestions . The manafold is not warped.
