E150 Trans to Explorer
Will a 1996 e150 aod transmission fit a 1996 Explorer (same engine)??

Any advice greatly appreciated!

No AOD in '96, maybe AOD-E or 4R70W, maybe even E4OD in the E150.

Can you pull a trans code off the door sticker?

302 right?

96 explorer--96 E150 trans
302 is correct

van code is U (4R70W i think)
Explorer code is also U

There seems to be a 1" difference in the overall length of the transmissions. The van tranny is 1" longer
