Hmm... sorry but I don't have a good lead on an OEM head unit that will fit and can do that. Might have to go aftermarket unless someone more knowledgeable chimes in.

you want to get the Audiophile that is discussed above by chester8420. It is an in-dash 6CD changer and has the RDS function for the radio. Mine is the same as his and mine has RDS.

Hey I've got a question for anybody that might know. I've got a 2007 escape with the 6cd changer radio part number 6L8T-18C815-DD. It says it's got and aux in for an iPod but I don't see a cable for it. Tried looking in the back of the radio for an input but only found the snake of cables. Does anybody know which color cables is the aux or where to find a wiring diagram for this radio. Thanks

I replaced my base model single CD player with a touchscreen Radio/GPS/DVD/MP3/Bluetooth unit for my '06 F350XLT. It is an off-brand I bought off eBay for around $200. I also had to pick up a wiring harness and a dash adapter from Autozone for $20.

Took about 20 minutes to pull the dash and extract the old head unit and another 10 to wire the harness. The roadblock was trimming the dash adapter. The i.d. was about 1/4" too small. I used a dremmel and an emery board to trim the opening, another 20 minutes.

Everything bolted right up the first time. No adjustment needed on the dash depth. I routed the GPS antennae coax thru a small gap at the defroster vent.

I have the option of adding a backup cam and that will be coming, along with installing my CB, after I get a new toolbox/fuel tank combo.

Here's the results:

Not bad for less than $250 and about an hour of effort on a Sunday afternoon.

(Before you say anything, the DVD is disabled when the truck is in motion.)

I think that the OEM radio aux input is in the back of the unit. The OEM units I was looking to replace mine with that had an aux input did not have a cable. You had to buy it separately and install it. I'm not familiar with the '07 Escape, but the '05 radio I bought (from a Mountaineer) did not come with a cable for the aux input.

That model also has the WWC (Worldwide) plug which should be plug compatible through about model year 2003 or 2004 in most Fords. Beginning in either 2004 or 2005 they changed the plug to the one called "phase II". This requires an adapter plug which costs about $30.00 in order to install in the earlier models. The radio that you have should be a direct "plug and play", no adapter required for your truck. All Fords did not change to the newer plug on all radios on the same model year. Also the 2005 and later Super Duty radios will not fit in the earlier model Super Dutys, but the 2007 Escape radio will. It is model # 6L8T-18C815-FD. It is listed as "Visteon CD6 audiophile w/MP3 & AVC. Sat compatible." I like the audiophile model because it has the "high power", RDS, (displays station type, song name, artist name, etc.), lets you scan by song type, etc, etc. As always, it depends on what you like. Both of the radio models listed above look identical from the front, but the plugs on the back are different. The audiophile model supports the external sub-woofer. I am not sure that the other one does.
will the Visteon CD6 slide in and work in a 2002 SD? my am/fm 6 disc player just quit.. the radio works but the CD says CD Error.. and the repair shop said it was not repairable..? wondered about just sending it to the manufacturer for refurb, or buy another unit with the extra goodies.. also, I picked up an Jensen model VR185.. says am/fm/mpx/cd/cdc/audio cassette player weather band and quartz clock .. it has plugs for "to wired commander", power antenna, Aux. input, line ouput, a strange looking black round plug on a cord, a jack in the back marked CDC and a plug marked Sirius plus the antenna plug in.. oh, and the big plug that plugs the entire radio in.. fits perfect, but didn't plug it in just in case the wiring was wrong and would blow something? otherwise, I'm looking for a good radio like you mentioned above that will just slide in and work..

If you can locate the model number(s) I listed above and the wiring in your truck has not been changed or modified, it should be a "plug and play" install. I haven't done any of these in several years, so I do not know what else might be available.
