Spartan tuner..

Just recieved my tuner and DPF delete..I was wondering, for the people that have them, how do you get the codes for the engine and transmission stratagies? I am hoping to email it to them tonight so i can install tomorrow. Also for the people that have them, how do you like them?? Any info is appreciated. Thanks

I don`t have one, but I`m pretty sure you just plug it into your OBD2 port and it`ll read what you need from there, then you download that to your email and send it in to them.

SDT has a forum linked at thier web site that has instructions. I have one out of the first batch released... I'm having a few issues with mine due to the license and firmware not being preloaded. If yours is preloaded it should be easy.

Guys, we just put new instructions up over at our forums linked off the site. The new ones are much easier to read and follow.

We've also put up more information about our products, as well as now offering DPF-On tuning for HUGE fuel mileage gains while still running the DPF, of course, along with our DPF-Delete tuning.

We have been making many tweaks to our DPF-On tuning in order to recover as much fuel mileage as possible while still providing a level of emissions-friendliness that isn't obtainable with DPF removal. ALL tunes also include full custom transmission tuning, unlike other plug-in modules on the market.

Currently the only TRUE custom tuning available on the market for the 6.4

On average, we are seeing about a 3mpg gain with the 120RWHP tuning, DPF-On.

I do have some *decent* video of the night's runs. I'll put them up on our server as soon as I have time and link them here, along with our forums and The Diesel Garage.

How about the DPF off? I own a V10, so sadly good MPG is something I will never achieve... but what can be done to modern diesels really intrigues me

I just swaped out my dpf with the spartan delete pipe. It was easy. Just the seven bolts where the dpf meets the CAT and the clamp where the back of the dpf meets you exaust pipe. The only thing else is the sensor on the dpf. Just unscrew it and screw it back into the delete pipe. Mine was a little tuff to take out of the dpf. I had to use some break-free spray and let it sit for 5 mins, then it came right out.

I'm considering options for tuning on an unmodified 6.4L (leaving DPF in place), so what exactly are HUGE fuel mileage gains? I have a F350 4WD AT 3.73 and I get about 12 mixed use unloaded mileage. Help me believe that the $1200 for a Spartan tuner is really worth it.

Thanks,

BadRita

Matt-Just ordered your kit and can't wait to try it out. As we talked on the phone I have a pretty hot dodge, but it impresses me with what your donig with as little as you have done. I will be the first to tell you that the second from 12's to 11's and then 10's is a big step. My dodge ran in the 12's with a stock turbo, but 11's took compounds and alot of other stuff, injectors, cp3, lift pumps, transmissions, etc. I hope you have better luck than me! It's all one big game, just how much money do you what to spend!
