Some of them did... mine is a Cali and Robin's is a Canada version and both had cats.
Wow, that sucks!
Once they begin emissions testing for diesels here in California, I'll be glad my Excursion and F250 came equipped without cats, because I have aftermarket exhausts on both of them.
I do feel sorry for the guys (like Nolan) with the ZF6 tranny's though, since they have cats.
I'm claiming ignorance on the cat if I ever live somewhere with emissions tests. It was gone when I bought the truck, so as far as I'm concerned it was never there to begin with
I keep hearing that it is illegal to remove your CAT. Were can you find out which states allow you to not have it? Whats the rules on this? THanks guys

Exactly what Chase said. It's illegal to remove emissions equipment from any vehicle. So if a vehicle came with catalytic converters, they cannot be removed.
What are the benefits to removing the cat and or muffler or are there any? Is it just the sound? I would like better performance but do not want to add any more noise, any suggestions?
