I'm gonna hit you with a pm. I have an ebpv-pedestal sitting on my garage floor. Don't pay for the rebuild kit.

Edit: also, it may be the o-rings, we can discuss that.

I know I've read about someone doing this, but haven't been able to find it in a search. I'm still looking.

Are you sure it is the rod that is leaking, and not a pedestal o-ring?

It is probably the pedestal o-rings.

That would make sense to me. I thought the rod was common just to seep oil, not spew it out.

Still not much luck on my search, but from what I've gathered so far, you can unscrew the rod (someone suggested slipping a 3/8" pipe over it to support it, and put the rod back in. You do need to wire the butterfly valve open so it doesn't flop around.

Edit: Found what I was thinking of. It was from Heatstroked. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/6...-pedastal.html

If you gut the pedestal, you can tap the hole and stick a bolt in there. If you don't want to remove the pedestal to gut it, and you disconnect the actuator arm you need to slip something over the rod to support it.

Just got off the phone with him. He had already deleted the EBPV actuator and was getting ready to throw it back in. Said the actuator arm was clean from the oil blowing across it. Sent him this video to check his work.

Maintain is known on other sites for his great videos including videos of a recent rebuild.
