Talking Finally,"Getting Those Gauges"

Well after seeing all these post about boost leaks, trans temps, pyro no# i decided (the wife too) to go ahead and get them. I know all of you got different ones and the ones i was considering is the Isspros from Diesel Manor. 3 gauge setup with pyro, trans, boost. The price is right and what do you all think? Hard to put in? Going with the overhead console. Do i go with the upgraded thermo-coupler? Thanks for the help

Thats what I have. Why are you going with the overhead pod? I like my A-piller pod, easy to see. But then again, I have my seat to the front more.

Congrats on the gauges.

Good gauges, I went with the Autometers from Pure Diesel Power. Like Rick, I really like my A-Piller pod. Gauges are always in my viewing angle as is the road when I am watching my gauges. Either way you go, congrate and I smell a Tuner in the new future.

Isspro's are good gauges, so you can't go wrong with that package. Diesel Manor sells a ton of them.

As for the thermocouple upgrade, it's your choice. Both will work exactly the same, it's just one has a plug in harness, and the other is a ring terminal style. Just about everyone on this board is probably running the ring terminal.

Gauges are all about personal preference. Where to mount, what color, which gauges, etc. You've got the basic three that are necessary. Optional gauges that I currently have and really like are the fuel pressure gauge and the HPOP gauge. Fuel pressure gauge paid off recently when my fuel pump decided to quit on me. Without watching my fuel pressure, it would have been a lot harder to track the symptoms I was having.

Mike:

Congrats on the gauges!!!!

I know you been waiting for a while to get them! Can that mean a DP Tuner is not far behind?!

I have the AutoMeter Ultra Lites. A-pillar mount. They were on the Ex when I bought it, so I can't really tell you about ease of installation. I know I REALLY like having the DP Tuner F-5 switch mounted on the bottom gage. Easy to see and reach!!!

Again, congrats, and enjoy!!!

Thanks fellas, i was thinking of the overhead mount but still undecided. Seems it would be easier to do the pod and just drop the wires down through and under the dash instead of running it up top under the headliner.. I might do the pod. And yes, Gearing up to the DP, just might have to wait a little longer though, that one for me, two for you thing, lol.

Mike if you plan on doing the DP-TUNER, you should think about the 4 gauge pod. I wish I would have done that. The switch looks great in the pod, and easy to see and change settings. Just something to think about.

I wonder if they will throw that in, the four gauge pod? Without charging me extra?

You can try to get if free, but I don't know. I would get it no matter how much more it cost. It can't be that much, to switch it out. I bet they are doing that on lots of them.

I,m going to call them to find out. Another question, Diesel Site paints the pillar for you, i don't think DM does, was yours painted from D.M.?. Would like them to paint it.

If you get the four gauge pod, you will be getting the tuner a lot sooner as you will not like looking at the empty hole for long. Maybe you could use that and go for the "two for me and only one for you" plan.

I don't think they paint them. But it is just point and spray. I did 3 coats and it came out great.
