I've got a 5.0 engine ready to go into a 92 F-150 w/ a manual transmission, but I don't know what I'm going to do about tuning the ECM. It's a speed density truck, & I'd like to avoid the cost of going mass air if at possible. I've installed a speed density friendly cam (Comp 31-255-5) & put on Trick Flow Twisted Wedge Street heads & 24 lbm/hr injectors.
My ECM catch code is L2L. I can't find anything about this ECM. I've contacted several companies (Superchips, Jet, Hypertech, SCT, Tweecer, Diablosport) to no avail. Either they can't support that processor or I haven't heard back. Does anyone have any ideas other than mass air conversion? Can I buy another SD ECM, like a DA1, since I know at least Tweecer supports this?
A tuner should be able to use a GEN 1 Lightning database (C3P1,2,or3) and just disable the transmission functions for use on a non-electronic or manual transmission and then dial in the fuel and spark from there.
