not sure where to post this but since this is my home turf i figured you guys would know something...
Front end squeaks when I turn the wheel. Thought it was the tie rod ends center link. Greased them up and its still squeaking. I've heard this particular squeak when the wheel is turned on other fords so im thinking its a common issue. Could this be ball joints? I know mine are original and probably need replacing. How hard is it to do yourself? I was told by a mechanic that the job would run near $1200...i don't have that kind of cash and if I do, I want a chip, a grille guard and some other fun mods.
Does it squeek when going over uneven road surfaces, such as turning into a driveway? Mine did and it took me 6 months to find the problem. Sometimes the squeek would become a clunk. Try tightening the bolts holding the upper fender to the frame. Mine were quite snug but was able to get another turn out of each and now the squeek - clunk is completly gone ... Oh so nice. Anyway, it costs nothing to check and unlike me might save some $$ replacing other stuff !!!
