I am looking for a competant dealer to take my truck to for service. I am in the s.w. houston tx area. Apparently the one i am using right now ( I won't mention any names) is barely qualified to point and scratch.
Can anybody help me out...appreciate it!!
I have been using Champion and I am not impressed. I have no idea about the SW part of town going to try Southern off of 288 and Ron Carter in Alvin next. That is unless some one scares me away from them and then I do not know what I will do.
I purchased from Sand Dollar in Galveston and was more than pleased with sales and service after sale. I would recommend them way before any other dealer in Houston, we service our shop trucks at McRee and they have been alright.
as far as mine there are a few issues that have never been taken care of by the stealership just sw of houston on 59.
oil leak @ oil cooler, transmission acts up every once in a while (grinds gears/ pops when you go into gear), mileage drop, etc... trying to get it into a decent dealer but can't afford to be w/o it...last time they had it for almost two weeks and it sat in the back lot most of the time...they would figure out oneproblem and it would sit until the parts came in and then they would fix it and then go to the next problem.
half of the problems i told them about, they could not find...and they had it for two weeks...
rental $75+ a day.....legit mechanic priceless
Sorry to throw a negative pall on things but I've used Joe Myers for many years & on all my Fords, including my SD 6.4L. You'll find a post in the site somewhere re my upper radiator hose blowing off at 4400 miles after Joe Myers worked on it (removing the hose during that repair, too) at 600 miles.
Steve Q is a good, stand-up guy. But he's not the one who will work on your vehicle. The hose itself didn't blow - it was not fastened back on properly. This isn't the first botched repair I experienced from them, but it was the last.
