Do any of the leaf eaters anywhere know that the earth is going to warm up whether we drive cars or we all ride bikes?!

be carefull guys, GLOBAL WARMING IS A REAL PROBLEM!!!!

unfortunately the problem with it is that those with political ambitions will exploit this farce to gain power. I think this is one of the greatest lies ever told. Not that I think we should be careless with the planet, but to think that man is the main cause of climate change is a stretch. The new regulations that this will bring will be big money in green pockets and much less in ours. So lets all enjoy our excursions while we can.

You can make a greater positive impact on the environment by quitting meat than you can by driving a zero-emission vehicle, in most cases.

New York Times:

To put the energy-using demand of meat production into easy-to-understand terms, Gidon Eshel, a geophysicist at the Bard Center, and Pamela A. Martin, an assistant professor of geophysics at the University of Chicago, calculated that if Americans were to reduce meat consumption by just 20 percent it would be as if we all switched from a standard sedan — a Camry, say — to the ultra-efficient Prius. Similarly, a study last year by the National Institute of Livestock and Grassland Science in Japan estimated that 2.2 pounds of beef is responsible for the equivalent amount of carbon dioxide emitted by the average European car every 155 miles, and burns enough energy to light a 100-watt bulb for nearly 20 days.

Oh what the heck, I might as well throw some more fossil fuel on this fire

Any reporter actively in search for the facts on global warming would easily discover that more than 31,000 scientists, including geophysicists, climatologists, meteorologists, and oceanographers, have signed the Oregon Petition declaring that "There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of . . . greenhouse gasses is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth's atmosphere and disruption of the Earth's climate." [http://www.oism.org/pproject/s33p36.htm]"

Now I am not a scientist, geophysicist, climatologist, meteorologist, or an oceanographer, but I am more willing to beleive them than I am a politician or an armchair scientist getting their information from the evening news.

Oh, before you ask, yes I have read the entire paper even though I don't understand all of it

Doug

A friend of mine put a little electric motor on his mountain bike and is riding it to work. Absolutely loves it.

I asked him if he'd noticed that the Chinese are now driving in cars while we're riding bikes.

Speaking of which - I couldn't believe what I read - Harley sales fell as gas prices rose. What gives?!?!

And one more thing - the ships and trains are the hugely inefficient fossil fuel burners - yet they forever fly under the environmentalists' radar.

If we now have global warming...dosnt that mean we once had global cooling. But how could we have global cooling, if it was once warmer ? And if it was once warmer (wouldn't it have had to have once been warmer, in order to have the global cooling that later changed to global warming...? There were several ice ages before the last one. Did Excursions and Suburbans cause the previous ice ages to fail ?

People are buying cheaper motorcycles... the local Suzuki & Kawasaki dealer are outselling the Harley dealer 2.8 to 1... at least thats what the pretty lady at the bike shop told me when I bought mine.
