Wow Sherm thats pretty crazy, I would have been scared to rip a main service line! Im pretty careful when I go near anything like that though.
Im surprised he didnt get a bill for it, but maybe the bills in the mail?! It just doesnt seem like our fine government agencies would come out and fix stuff for free haha.

yeah, i'm pretty glad i wasn't in the house at the time. the power guy said normally there's a penalty charge, and a hourly charge because he was after hours and on call, but since it was a first time occurrance, he'd waive the charges...he's lucky to be alive. imagine had he touched the frame on the cat the same time as hitting the mast...

i'd say he got really lucky. i was working with a bunch of laborers on the side of a bank
with a trencher the guy running it cut a bunch of alarm wires. wasn't me. and set the alarm off. man that was a fiasco. they had swat, cops, and all that .they thought it was a bank robbery. needless to say the company got fined over that one.

no man,
i was working with a crew of construction laborers an the moron driving the trencher hit an alarm cable for a bank we were at. settin' the alarm off. i was 50 ft. away running a tamper. i never even knew what was going on until the cops showed up. we were resloping the dirt up against the building for water run off.

Been pretty quiet here over the summer. Things should start picking up soon here since it looks like fall has arrived and winter is probably just around the corner!! BBBBRRRRR. Then again, maybe it's because it's only 12 C in the office right now! Broken large overhead door left open 24 hrs a day = COLD! Someone is going to have to buy a tarp soon until the door can be replaced....
