Thank you for taking care of my novice *** today. You are a first class guy all around, and your Jeep is outstanding! I tried to radio you to thank you while i was on my way down Gold Mtn, but i couldnt connect with you guys. I regret not meeting up later in the day. I have your pry bar, i will meet up with you sometime in the future and return it.
For those of you going "wtf?", we went on a Big Bear run today. George invited some really cool Jeep guys, and a guy with a huge Unimog. We all ran up Gold Mtn, and at the first obstacle, i slashed the sidewall on my brand spankin new ProComp Xterrain. I was out from the beginning. But that wasnt it. I attempted to finish the climb up the rocks, and i suddenly lost power to the entire truck. People say they saw a huge spark come from under the truck. George winched me up with his Jeep. It turns out my positive battery cable moved around so much due to the flex of the motor and frame, that it contacted the frame and shorted out the whole system. George and my friend Jim pryed the starter cable away from the frame while i was busy changing my tire. George then jump started my Pathfinder. After i moved out of the way for at least 20 other rigs coming up the mountain, George loaned his onboard air to me and i aired up a little more so my tires werent so soft. George and my friend Jim then guided me down the rocks so i could get to the pavement.
George i wish i got to see you after you guys finished the Gld Mtn run. Someday we will wheel together again! Thank you George!
Sorry your trip got cut short. Don't forget to see if Alt is putting out 13.5 V as it was only putting out 12.1 V when I tested it. Jim left us after we completed Gold Mt. Did he hook up with you? I'm going to Gorm next weekend on Sat to run the Miller Jeep Trail. Think you will get the Rig squared away by then.
Was a good day for me but these old bones are tired.

George, im not sure i want to wheel for the rest of summer, lol. Im thinking about putting the Pathfinder on the jackstands and getting her ready for winter wheeling. That was a pretty scary situation yesterday. I just looked at pics from Miller, and that looks just like Gold Mountain to me
Dave just thought I throw it out there incase you wanted to try it again.
Ed anytime you want to put the TJ on the trail let me know.
The event next weekend at Gorman is being put on by a vendor to show appreciation to its customers me being one. You are welcomed to come as my guest.

Hey i think ill be going to Miller with you George. Some people i talk to say ill be fine with the pathfinder as is. Im there once i get this tire thing squared away.
Getting there around 8. Will be towing the Jeep. Parking the truck and trailer by the Aliklik Camp area (CAL4WD Training Site). Dave I'll have the trow strap ready. lol
The rock by your left front tire did you in. Don't feel bad I cut numerious tires over the years on the Jeep. I think I was the poster boy at Discount Tire for their warranty.
not to many people are wheeling those rigs....its looking good though. also if you go to some of the bigger name shops they will sell you a lifetime alinment where you can get an alinment as many times as you want as long as you own the car....
most of those big name shops dont give off road vehicles their lifetime warranties because we get them aligned too much ha, i tried to get one from firestone and they said no, they dont do them for trucks used off road. other shops might be different however
Dave did you ever make it to Gorman? I was running late but did wait a little while before heading out to do the trail. No Pathfinder. There were about five sections I believe you would have had problems with. I'm sure the tow strap would have gotten you over. Long day but had fun. The barbque put on by Gen-Rite was terriffic. keep in touch.
