Why arent you allowed to say F--K,S-itD--khead,azz ,co-k su-ker and words like that?

Because there are young kids that post on this forum, and as my parents taught me, and I teach my kids, people that use profane language in normal conversation usually aren't bright enough to think of other words to use as descriptors.....

In other words the Mods prefer to keep it fairly clean so they don't have to worry about 8 year old Jimmy cursing his parents out and they find he learned it from here.

 

basically because they think that its a good idea to let young kids wander around the interweb unattended and therefore need to regulate this site. RIGHT.

It not even that. I'm 35 and know that I don't have to use profane language to get a point across, and have no care about trying to sound "cool" because I swear. It's sites like pirate and the continual spewing of filth that I don't go there. I have a 7 and a 5 year old that like to come in and hang out with me while I surf the web, and I try to teach them that use of profanity usually shows ignorance on the part of the person that is using it. Don't get me wrong when I'm out and had a few, hanging out with the guys in the garage, I've been known to let a few fly, but I make sure no kid are around to hear. So if you choose to use those words, have fun on Pirate and other sites that don't care.

 

I am 17 years old and I do not like hear this word but da*n or ***** is ok but don't like hear all time but just use when you hurt or in trouble or forgot thing or broke.

I have see many young use text or e-mail with lot bad words.

 

I will continue to browse Pirate due to the MASSIVE amounts of tech that no other website can possibly come close to offer... but I'm not about to quit browsing Pirate because I can't take the foul language.

I agree, foul language is unnecessary. However, I'm not going to try and tell someone else what to do or what to say. That is ignorant.

I agree that foul language isnt necassary but it is a part of life. Any one thats every been in the military, especailly the Marine Corp can atest to how many diffrent ways the f- word can be used. I along with almost everyone else in the USMC use profantity every day, so when we go to post an someones being an idiot or jackass, it just kinda rolls out. As far as kids go, you'll never convince me that 90% kids dont hear worse at home and on movies than they ever will on a forum like this.

 

I do not use foul language and rarely visit sites that allow it, no matter what the forum.

if you ask some of the FTE admin or mods the minions language and attitude is worse than anyone on pirate.

I dont need cuss words to get my point across but sometimes I let them slip. Bashing idiots is a completely different story.

I agree with Rob. Pirate owns all other websites in the tech department. The chaos, as you put it, is some of the smartest most tallented offroad oriented people in the world giving correct information that sometime is a little too profane for fragile newblet goobers to understand. Does that make the information incorrect? No! Does that mean I dont go there for information? No! Does that mean I let my 4yr old cousin read the post? No, but most of it is beyond her understanding anyway.
