I went for a drive today over to the coast to look around for a possible site for a summer meet and greet. I found a place that should fit the bill. FOGERTY CREEK PARK is 1/2 way between Newport and Lincoln City Oregon. About 2 miles north of Depoe Bay. It has picnic area, a covered area if it rains (in August...no way) and it is a 200 yard walk to the beach. For those who want to go for the weekend there is a casino in Lincoln City (about 15 miles north) as well as a large outlet mall. In Newport (about 15 miles south) there is the Oregon State/Hatfield Marine Science Center and the Oregon Coast Aquarium. The Aquarium is where they had Keiko the whale (Free *****) until he was released. There are numerous motels between the two cities. On Saturday August the 9th [/b]we can have a picnic at Fogerty Creek Park with who ever so desires. A good time to meet/greet/ swap parts and small white lies over a hamburger and the beverage of your choice. Oh by the way the Rogue Brewery is in Newport for those so inclined as well. I will be at the park on Saturday morning and will have a LARGE grill. Not a BBQ but a special made FOMOCO propane grill that can cook an army of burgers. If possible send me a pm and let me know if you can make it to the park and I will bring the paper products, but kind of need to know how many. Hope to see a bunch of folks otherwise I have to eat a bunch of burgers all alone. I am going to post this at Slick 60 as well. Hope this works.......PS there is a lighthouse (great photo op with a slick) and tide pools for the kiddies fairly close as well.........Ross

 

That sounds good to me! I will pencil that in and plan to attend. I might have to drag mine down there but I should be able to get it there.

What kinds of goodies would you like me to bring?

I doubt mine will be there...but I havent ever been that far south on the Oregon coast...sounds like a good excuse to get out :-)

CS: You dont need to have or bring a slick. Just come on down and have a picnic. Someone might just bring something that you want/need. Besides its always good to put a face to the name.

 

I hear ya there...I met several from FTE at the west coast nats...had a blast too...if you go to the Hawaii, So Cal chapter near bottom of the forums pg and click on it, theres pics from the show...and some FTE folks too if ya look

couldnt convince him on that one... i love it too... shes so random... i was sitting there talking about previous cars and trucks weve owned... and mentioned the names of a few...[big blue, the half ton long bed 74 chev... with a bit of a body lift and over sized tires... and lil blue, the 85 or 84 nissian truck...] and mentioend i couldnt figure out a name for the 63... [was thinkin somethin like lefty, cause of the left hand igniton...] but she was like FLUFFY so yea.... deffently a bit off topic...

but anyways, while we are off topic, this will bring it back a little bit, we should split the costs on getting down there and back

Gas has jumped up and down here.

Just yesterday I noticed that one gallon of regular had dropped a whole 2 CENTS from $4.59 a gallon to $4.57!

That's great,my dad is paying almost a dollar more for diesel.
Some one was telling me and my dad that it will keep going down a couple of cents then it will be cheap in a couple of years.
BTW this is off topic but,how come YOU never show me pictures of your 65?Sorry for being off topic,but I love Fords and I want to see it,I'm shure its real nice right?

Bill...Its gone down the same whopping 2 cents here...I was talking with a gal at my local gas station and she said if they were to take out the state and fed taxes as it is now, gas would still be over 4 bucks..for supreme...4.67 I believe it was...regular is 4.39 btw...
Im amazed at how people gripe about the jump in prices..as we all should, but then get all excited about it dropping a few pennies....
I gripe about the rises as we all do...and am simply grateful to have the few extra cents in my coffers when the prices do drop however much they do.

btw 76...if you are referring to my 65...go look in my gallery...its not the prettiest, but its the most dependable rig Ive ever had...AND if you look through all of the albums you will learn alot too...take notes as theres a fair amount of info in there.
