460 headers

460 headers
I have a 77 F250 4X4, 4 spd with a 460 in it that i would like to put headers on but have'nt had much luck finding any. I don't mind doing a little modification to make them fit, I just don't want to buy 2 or 3 sets to find one that will work. Thanks for your help!

I have a '78 F-250 460 powered 4x4 S/C with a Spicer 60 front end. The following information applied in 1997, when i installed the headers. The only headers I found that fit were the L&L fenderwell for the 77.5 to 79 4x4 trucks, and to use them I had to use the appropriate L&L motor mounts. I had checked all the popular brands, with no luck. Part of the problem with my truck is the high pinion 60. There was contact, or near contact, with all in frame headers, including L&L. The fenderwells were my last choice, even considered remaining with stock cast iron. With that being said, I installed the headers in '97 and to date have had no problems at all. No leaks, no rust issues, nothing! I installed per the directions and haven't even had to retighten them.
