So there I was getting pulled in front of (nothing new) by a little car and so of cousre I pass with a little smoke at the F&^%$#.

later pull over to pick something up, pull back out on the road and hear funny noise (NOT GOOD) so as I pull over my steering and braking go away (no power) and my bat. light comes on. Great my belt.

Yeah for that, cause I just happen to put on the old belt cause the new one was squeaking. anyway
as I round up all the crap I Look down at my tentioner and pullies. Never had one off before till then. (this is on my lunch break mind you) guess the washer or what ever holds it to the block broke. Bold was still there, but obviouly the belt was off track and got thrown in pieces all over.

so new belt goes on after I get a ride to the stealer $160 WTF. but i need my truck, so I bend over and take it like a good little boy.

But the meaning of this "heads up shall say" is I am SOOO glad I put the upper radiator hose that did not come with my truck. you know the one that goes AROUND the belt. yeah that one made the job a parking lot job with no tow or having to add radiator fluid to the ground.

course now I am paranoid cause my truck is going to Boise with my girl friend driving it alone so needless to say I am worried.

so my suggestion is to get that hose for your upper raidator on your next coolant change. sure made it easier. and its not expensive at all.

adn really I am not srue how much acutallay comes out when you take the top hose off, but all I know its that belt could have tore the hose it self also.
