Adding filtering to cabin air intake on Explorer?
I would like to see if I could add a filter to filter the outside air to keep dust and exhaust fumes down to a minumum? Has anyone done this on an Eplorer? I have an '02 model I am thinking of doing this to but don't even know if it's possible.

Seems to be you would have to earn your engineering degree on this one. I was taking it into consideration....now this is just a conceptual IDEA off the top of my head...
What if you were to cut a slot in the very top of the firewall just under the hood, made it where you could slide in a small filter to cover the hole in the vent cowl where the fresh air is drawn in? You could use a 1/4" thick cut-to-fit residential window A/C washable filter. Cut very small of course to cover just the width of the hole....just a thought.
