If it is just the finish, re-paint it.
Since you can re paint the entire damper, it does not have to match perfect, and even the sticker can be masked off to resemble a prefectly new shock.
This is part of what I do every year when I detail the underside of the trucks.
Has anyone else noticed a stabilizer making it nearly impossible to turn at low speeds. My 05 had a dual Rancho settup when I bought it. When I backed out of the driveway, it was like driving a 67 camero with a chain steering wheel. I took the shocks of the stabilizer to paint them and it turned (and handled) so much better that I never put them back on.

I hit a rock with mine (stock stabilizer) and bent it so it wasn't able to slide no more... after that it didn't turn well at any speed... or stay in its lane for that matter
Mine were fine for quite a few years, until one winter when it iced up over and over and over again REALLY bad. They had salted for months, and then suddenly, the type of salt changed. And the Ranchos immediately rusted like all heck.
