FTE Folding Team
What I don't quite understand though, is why you need the core. The folding main program should download any necessary core automatically. That's why I suggested the folding forum. They should be able to help you figure out how to fix things so that they work right.
What client are you running? And what windows OS are you running it on?
When I went to the forum and ask for help, they tried to a point, then all of a sudden it was back on my end again. I have this damn trouble everytime they change the core.
I am at the office at the moment, but I think the client is 6.23. I have opened by box clean, straight to the net with no results, unless Win 7 is blocking it. I don't think so. I can download anything I want, including viruses, so that nips that one.
I fought with the last core change for about six weeks. I am not going to do that again. I will just shut it down. Either it will work with no damn headaches or I will call it quits. As you can tell, I am ready just to flush FAH from my computer.
I don't know if you've tried this, but it might be a place to start.
How do I install the CPU Console client in Windows Vista? - FaHWiki
I went through the BS of editing the file, renaming the damn thing and then extracting it. I am up and running after two weeks of trying to fix their download problem. Funny thing is that I still cannot ping that site. My file came from Dr. Pande's server at Stanford, not Iowa or Idaho or whereever they changed it to.
It is total BS that I have to go through that kind of sheet when I am supplying the puter and resources to help in their research and I get an "effing" canned answer that their GPU License forbids releasing the exe file. Hell, the file is hidden inside the FAH file. They should make both available when a problem like this happens.
It was interesting. I have not edited a compressed file in a while. It surprised me that it worked the first time. It has now completed over 10%. I won't know if I did it right until it finishes.
