I have a 64 ford F100 4X4 and I have no brake lights I have turns and markers but no brakes so if someone knows about the wiring and could help I would apprciate it
the brake light switch is on the master cylinder with the 2 wires...check fuse, replace with a known good one and if that doesnt work, I would get another switch..
I wnt to thank you guys all very much I have checked the switch it is still good I can not seem to find a fuse for it I have decided I am going to get a set of universal lights and wire them up instead but I am going to check the link dave sent me first thanks again everyone
Hey dave the link that you sent me was perfect I know how to fix my problem now without having to add any aftermarket lights it has enough on it as it is thank you
I just did the same thing with my '66. I made up a new harness from the firewall to the taillights, just to be sure. It turned out to be a bad fuse holder.
Check the harness that enters the sterring column and follow it. Look for breaks in the insulation, corroded connectors, and exposed wire. Sometimes you'll have to pull the steering wheel and physically look at the switch. Over time the plastic breaks down or warps and you can't get a good connection no matter what you do.
Now when you say the turn signal stops working is that for the front and back or just the rear?

Reason: spelling
And if $$$ is really tight you can buy one of the Dodge/Ford switches in the HELP section of the parts store. It will require a little trimming to have it sit correctly on the base but it will work in the mean time. The switch doesn't feel the same as a stock style either. I had to do this a few months ago on my 64. Not the best but it works in the mean time...

And when that "gypo" switch shorts out, then you can go buy the Genuine Ford switches...mebbe.
The day will come when the Ford switches will be obsolete, then you will have to buy one of those gypo switches, and y'all will be begging for the real thing.
The NOS suppliers will have some, but the price will be double what it is now!
Oh trust me that is why I said it doesn't feel the same and its not the best. I had to get that fixed after a fix it ticket was handed to me...
EDIT: Check out page 57 of the online Dennis Carpenter catalog. They sell a new C0DZ-13341-A 61-62 switch for $40 and the C9TZ-13341-C for $25. Looks like I will be buying a new one sooner then I thought. Last time I saw them they were $70 just like the 56-60 one.
