Question about Explorer XLT CD unit

Hi,Everybody i want to replace the CD unit on my Ford Explorer XLT 2000 ,i buy a 1.5 DIN Alpine CD unit ..but it dosen't fit ...cause is wide about 1/2 inches.so now can anyone tell me can i go to 2 DIN or what Brand they carry the unit is fit right in that space i don't want to put a 1 DIN size and leave a blank ,i mean space.so if u know where i can get it or what size is fit right in,please help me out ...

Question about Explorer XLT CD unit

The standard size radio should work, I guess 1.5 DIN is the standard size. You probably need to get an adapter plate that would cover the blank space. Best Buy or any similar place has these or check out Chruchfield. Their catalog , or web site, will also tell yu what size radio and speakers you need. Hope it helps
