Dash Problems!!!

My 02' EX has 127k on it and other than a climate control issue has been great. I'm running a super chip programer on it and yesterday pulled my boat with it set in the "hi performance" mode which is a no no I no. Didn't think about it till almost to the lake. Had been driving moderately and became even more so once I figured it out. As I'm driving I see the oil press. guage reading below zero. Shut it down. Check the oil (OK). Figured If it had no press. would have quite running on own due to injectors would stop firing fuel? Left the lake and oil press. guage pegs over High mark. Because of the extreem placement of needle I was wonder if a short could cause it? Then today pulling boat again the check engine light comes on. I checked codes and only found the common 1000 and 1250 or something like that. Restarted truck and engine light is out!!??!?!? Any ideas? Could they be related?? Maybe a failing dash cluster??

Does it do when you put the truck back to stock tune?

Since I put it to tow performance nothing incorrect has happened but it may be too early to tell. I've only put on about 20 miles in the tow performance mode (still pulling the same boat).

changed it back to stock and ck engine light still off but op guage still reading below off possition and sometimes above high possition. Changed the programmer to tow performance mode and same thing. Thinking ops is bad, wiring harness has a short, and/or dash cluster/guage problem. My chiltons shows ops on top/back of block near bell housing on an addapter. can anyone verify? got on top and underneith with a light and can't see anything, not even a wire going in that area. called local parts store and sensor (if they had a listing) varied from $15-$80. Haven't called the dealer yet.

Maybe looking in the 7.3L forum will yield results for the location of the sending unit. Or even starting a new thread.

I don't know where it is personally.
