I'm about to get an F150 SuperCrew, and the only one the dealer has been able to find that has the options I want also has the class III towing package (which I don't care about). I'm wondering if anyone out there has an opinion about how the heavy duty shock absorbers will affect the ride quality of what will usually be an unloaded truck?
I just purchased a Supercrew with the towing package, I must say that it doesnt seem to be to harsh of a ride. I am sure it is slightly stiffer but I have not noticed anything unpleasant about the package as far as ride comfort goes. I personally think the towing package is a great option, and only $355 it is a steal if you ever have to do any towing, or live in a warmer climate and can utilize the extra cooling capacity. Good Luck.
I believe that the Tow package includes the larger radiator and the necessary wiring....plugs etc. If there are any other items included it would be the different rear end designed for larger load.
The tow package on your truck is Engineered to the fullest extent.
The shocks should not be a problem. if your worried about the sagging of the truck they do build leaf spring adaptors to keep your truck level. Now these will change your ride.
The tow package does include "heavy duty" shocks, but I think that's the only suspension change, and I dont know to what degree the ride is affected by them. Mine has the tow package and it honestly rides better than any truck I've ever been in. I don't even tow a trailer, I just wanted the HD cooling & electrical that comes with it.
Yeah Screwdude, mine had the wrong radiator, took it in last week and they're ordering the right one. I love the truck but sometimes ford's #@%! antics really drive me nuts.
