Positive Lead Wire

I just finished rearranging my speakers in my pickup and I am adding the subs tomorrow. Right now I have about14 gauge wire running from the selinoid to my amp. Is this big enough or should I go to somthing like 12 or 10 gauge wire? My amp will be putting out about 200 watts and it will be pushing to 10" Blaupunkt subs. I just want to make sure I can pull enought juice from the battery to feed my system.

Thanks

Definently go with 10 ga. wire by all means.Equal for the ground. The 14 gauge would be a good size for the remote turn on only.

DO NOT GO CHEAP ON THE WIRE.
12 and 14 guage is to small and will starve the amp or burn down your truck!!!

First you say a 200 watt amp. Peak or RMS?
Who made the amp?

IF RMS and a good company then use an 8 guage wire for power and ground. if Peak then the 10 guage should do.

If you are trying to save money then get the wire at and industral type store. I run my system with 4 guage that was for welding I paid .60/foot

Email me if you need any more info
