So I got to take a little closer look today. I pulled the clutch plate per instructions and there was on washer (not really a washer, but a plate type thing) about 1'' in diameter. Then in the hole where the clutch goes into was a material type bushing, but no washers that I could see. The bearings in the hole didn't look full...meaning there weren't all of them to in the circle. Is that normal? There also wasn't any grease. I sprayed some white lithium (maybe incorrectly) and when i started the engine it began smoking. Now that i think about it, i should have used a thicker grease, if any. So was i missing something in not seeing the washers? I drove it around the block quick and it seemed to be cold the whole time...but the smoking thing had me worried so i didn't go too far. I'm sure it's just the white lithium just burning off. All the refrigerant lines are cold throughout...so something is working right.
I took the first plate off the clutch.
The 2 clutch face plates are very worn anf grooved?
Could that be my problem?
My clutch wont engage even when I push it in with a screwdriver?
not to hi jack your thread but i have an ac problem where if im sitting idling or in stop and go traffic my ac gets warm, on the highway it blows cold and the engine temp doesn't rise at all to indicate the truck kicking it off to prevent overheating (don't know if these trucks do that or not but some vehicles iv had would automatically kick the ac off if the engine temp went above degree mark
My truck was the doing the same thing, I had to have the orphaus tube replaced because it was clogged up. My mechanic said that the AC was freezing up during the day and not working. Let me know if that helps
