Started the Icon 4.5" install....

and low and behold a nut stripped....are you kidding me!!!

out of all the torqueing and tightening, I got to 60 ft-lbs (76 ft lbs required) on the upper rear shock bolt and its stripped. wont come off or tighten. it had to be that one where the bracket is riveted to the frame.....wtf.

heat it up a little and put upward pressure on it

the nut itself?

looking inside the other one it was pretty beat too but it tightened up. the othe rone wont loosen or tighten...its...stuck but spins freely

I am not familiar with what you are actually doing.

But i am familier with having a nut or bolt stripp in that manner. heat may not be neccesary, if it is a nut on a stud, pry hard behind the nut while trying to loosen it. Wha you have is a small portion of threads messed up. You need to get it back onto the good threads. you dont have to be on nut itself, whatever you can get access to that will push on the nut from the back. Ussually this will get it back into the threads and let you get it off. After that you have to figure out whats best.
