Any Suggestions on how to remove a overtightened fuel filter cap. Tried a 1/2 inch drive ratchet but the square plastic piece broke. Tried to hold a piece of wood on two of the plastic things that stick up from the cap and tap on it with a hammer and they broke.
Scatgo, just out of curiosity, is this fuel filter cap one that is attached to a filter? (Can't recall which brand does that)
or is this cap a separate unit? (OEM)
My strap wrench broke when I was changing my oil filter last week.
The filter that was in there was attached to the cap but the Frame I put in last time did not attach. The new Frame I got came attached to a new cap and its a good thing it did because I took customs idea one step further and drilled a hole in the cap so I would have something to put the chisel up against.
PS....... The new filter came with a different type of O-ring. The beveled type I got with the last filter leaked witch is why I had to over tightened the cap. Just took it for a ride around the block and so far no leak.
