My 86' 6.9L F250 just died on the interstate going around 85mph and I don't this it is getting fuel to the injectors. I had the fuel pump tested and everything on it works fine, and I know that the injector pump is getting fuel to it. A couple of the injectors leak some around the return rings and when ever it rains hard I have fuel on the ground under the rear tank (but not just when I park it on dry days). It refuses to prime the injector pump to get fuel to the injectors now as well. Any suggestions???
Turn the key to ON, and remove the wire on the IP, front drivers side.
Listen carefully, do you here a clicking noise from the IP?
Next remove the schrader valve from the fuel filter header and install a pressure gauge there.
When you crank the engine are you seeing any pressure?
How much?
Is the stock water seperator still in the fuel system?
The water seperator was a known point for air intrusion, which causes starting issues.
I hear a click when I remove and reattached the wire to the IP, I have an electric pump for the lo-pressure pump so I know that it is getting good pressure through the filter. Where can I find the water seperator? And any other suggestions?
