How you been doing. Yeah, it has been a while for me. Had some very bad medical problems with the old back. It finally went out and I had to break down and have surgery. It has now been a little over a week. It is the first time that I have been basically painfree in over four years. I still get a jab every once in a while, but I can now move about and finally get back to work.
It has been great this weekend so far. Got to see my daughter and was able to run around with her instead of her having to push me through the Mall. We had a blast this afternoon.
Just back from Elkins.....rained Friday afternoon and evening, then REALLY rained Saturday evening early, but still a nice weekend. They moved the show OUT of city park since it was so wet, and held it all around downtown from the train staion and out. Still very nice.
I was RAISED on the 'West Side'.....Garvin Ave above where Wilson Jr High USED to be !
I'm not too far from gettin' the truck off the lift, I need to put the windwhield in, mount the hood, and chase a couple of electrical gremlins....but beyond that, she's a keeper !
I wish I still had that 47 3/4 ton I had when I was young.
Yeah Dave, I still remember that 62 I drove to school. It was a rare breed. It had a 352, four speed with a granny gear, four wheel drive, power steering and brakes and air conditioning. I cannot remember what series it was. It was either a 3/4 or one ton. You needed a ladder to get in it. It had tall skinny 16 inch tires on it, but man it would fly. It belonged to my grandpa. It was black with black interior.
I miss that old truck and my grandpa. They were both one of a kind.
Sorry guys! Hate to even ask. how do I find people from Beckley? Im actually in VA now but I come back to WV usually once a month to see family. My mom and dad are still in the area. Just thought Id ask. Hope I didnt ask in the wrong place.
