When the litle hydrolic dealy for the passanger seat waers out on the older boy styl extended cabs the seat will slam into the window when you go to flip it up. It hapend to a guy I went to school with and I've seen a few with spider webed windows on the pasanger side. I've heard its quite comom. Is yours an extended cab?
Hey DODGE I think you must have horse shooes up your a$$...lol Im on my 3rd in 5yrs! good thing there only 200 bucks installed whare I am! and I get a set of free wiperblades too boot!
Oh and if you have something like NOSTRK "they" will be woundering how you got a gasser to sound like that.
If I used that one I would be cornered by every rice-burner-big exhaust-no-power-oversize-wheel front wheel drive kid asking me about the "Nos" on my "TRUCK".
I couldn't handle that, they've watched the Fast-And-Furious, or whatever that movie was called, too many times.
They don't know that N.O.S. stands for nitrous oxide systems they think it's Nos, short for nitrous-oxide.
Both the newer ones are extended cabs, but never had that problem. The '97 is a ClubCab and I've crawled in and out of that back seat about 832,452 times and never noticed that problem. The '98 is a QuadCab and I don't think the front seat pops up and forward, not sure though. Mine's a std. cab as the ClubCabs weren't available with the diesel until '92.
My grandfather-in-law has a '93 ClubCab but it only has about 50K on it. He drives his '86 IDI "work truck" all the time, only takes the Dodge on long trips and hunting, he calls it his "sunday truck".
Never heard of this problem but I don't know many people with '92-'93 ClubCabs.
Hey, the guys on the Cummins forum were calling it a 98.5, I dunno.
Like I said I really wanted that truck. But the dip**** selling it wanted $13K for it. Sorry, but no, I'm not paying that for a truck with 150K plus on the ticker, scratches and dings everywhere, a rusted out driver's side door, a big tear in the driver's seat, and ball joints, tie rods, and track bar bushings that all need replaced, among other things. I don't care if it is "rare."
BTW I shoulda known something was up- the guy selling the truck had it for over 6 months (found it on Autotrader), no idea what he finally ended up doing with it. Maybe some sucker bought it.
The Dana 60 in the '94 up Dodge diesels is probably the worst 60 ever made. The steering seems to be sub-par too.
In it's defense at least it's not a Dana 50 like Ford seemed to like to use.
It's kind of one of those six of one half dozen of another.
That's another reason I like older Dodges and IDI Fords plus there's no unit bearings and they have real hubs etc.
We have a 2000 model 2500 Dodge 4x4 at work.
The steering is one of my biggest complaints.
It only has somewhere around 80,000 on the truck, driving it 50 miles on the interstate makes your arms tired trying to keep it in your lane.
Like the truck has a mind of it's own, wanders all over the place.
The guy that owns it blames the tires, but I ran a set of the same tires on my truck, never had a problem with them.
That has to be one of the worst driving straight axle 4x4 trucks I have ever driven.
There are fixes for all of the front end problems but it sucks that you have to "fix" things. If you do the "fixes" they are absolutely amazing, ride quality and steering/tracking. I drove one that had been "fixed" and it was the best ridding and driving truck I've ever seen, bar none.
The track bar is one of the biggest problems, it's way weak for the application.
I am convinced the reason why all of the F-350s I've owned still drove straight is because of the track bar they have even though they are leaf sprung.
My '91.5 Dodge is in way better shape than any of the F-350s I've owned and nothing in the steering is even close to worn out. When my Dad bought it new he returned it to the dealer a few times for steering problems. It's not terrible it just doesn't stay straight, you have to correct it a lot compared to other rigs. My wifes '90 Suburban is the same way, actually a little worse. I've thought about adding a track bar to those two trucks also to see if it helps. My Ramcharger is my 'wheeling rig so I don't care about the limited articalation that is the result of adding a track bar.
