Trans Temp gauge ?

When installing the trans temp sender in drivers side of trans do you just screw the sender into the trans or is there and adapter you need? The autometer gauge I have came with adapters but they seem to big for what I would need. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You should be able to use the 1/8"npt fitting it came with. If the hole is larger use an adapter. Put some thread sealer on there.

thanks got it installed and I have a problem temp is running at 225. Have an aftermartket cooler on there, and just changed the fluid and filter a week ago.

anyone have any ideas on what I should look for? Should I have kept the stock tranny cooler in and added the second one to the system.
