I just bought a "63 styleside long bed" but after getting it out of the feild and towing it home i found out the vin number is missing off of the door. I don't know were else it is but i was told it should be on the frame somewere. Now i have bought another truck that runs and drives that is a 65 short bed step side with a 6 cylender and a 3 in the tree. I have a motor that came out of a 88 ford cop car. It's a 351 w and I have built it 30 over and a 521/544 cam and so on, were can I find headers for the swap and motor mounts? and will I have to change the valve springs or what . I wasn't going to do any head work right away but if I have too I will. Any help would be help ful!
63 Warranty plate is attached to the drivers door. 61 Vin and 62 Warranty plate are on the glove box.
The vin will be stamped on your 63 just aft of the passenger shock tower on the top of the frame. It will also be stamped on top of the passenger rail mid way under the cab.
On a 63 to 65 very few parts interchange.
A windsor in a 63 uses a after market mounting crossmember avalable from just about everyone. It shares engine isolators with the 302,289 351C 351M400.
As for springs you need to follow the cam MFG recommendation for installed height and seat pressure.
