Progress

Well I had a very productive day. ups and fedex have both been here

New Mustang tank and lots of purdies from Sacramento vintage ford.
I took my driveshaft to the clutch and driveline shop for two new conversion joints for my 8" rear and c4. The old F1 shaft fits fine with a c4 yolk and Mustang 8" rear. I had to get conversion U joints to hook it all up , big and little if that makes sense?
I had two new tires mounted on my fresh rims.
Bought some spray bombs to finish my frame mods and making my gas tank brackets this weekend.
I just might get this old girl on the road this year. Woohoo. Oh and I have the deck boards fitted to my bed just mocked up.

Very nice.. and sounds like you've been busy..

I'll race yah to on the road this summer!.. I'm hoping to get to start it next week. (first time since last summer, rebuild, paint, and reassembly)..

Is your interior done? mine isn't, so I'll have to cheat with temp seats...

That's it! Spread that re-bate check around some!!...Lol !! Good progress !
What re your sealing/finish plans for the wood? ...BTW..one of the boards is definatly a different grain, cut ,backwards or something...can you see that in your Pic? may be an optical illusion or something....Any progress is progress!

Yep the one board sticks out. I need to see if I can flip it. If not I will buy another. All Im doing is putting thompsons water sealer on the boards and painting the bed and strips.
The bed will be used but not abused.

IM looking at letting the small things go and just get it on the road, then next year do the little things tweaking it.

The interior is all painted and the seat is original with one hole on the drivers side. Its not a priority right now.

Nice looking..

I just wired up the ignition and headlight switches, and tested the lights and signals.. (and all the fuses are still good!)..
wiper switch yet to do.. then the fan control, airbags, power windows, lock pulls, and AC

no gauges yet.. so those wires are off to the side.

Thats looking really nice, great job. I really like the color of the cab interior, what color is it? what color are you going to paint the exterior?
I was kind of thinking about painting my 51 truck White and Blue exterior (like Bobby's truck) and white interior. But the Wife thinks it has to be either Red or Yellow! course I'm years and years away from paint!
cheers

Its Ivory white. Some places list it as Almond. The pics in my gallery are old.
The cab is painted and the doors and hood. Its wired enough to start it but the brakes arent finished and the fuel lines, gas tank, driveshaft etc all have to be finished, bolted up etc.
The left fender is mostly done bodwork wise. The other three need a total work up.
IM going to put them on as is and do what I can when I can. I dont have the space and time with kids and all. What you see is about two years of work.

If it's close enough to assemble and drive...go for it! I hear that helps charge the "enthusiasm" batteries.....

Driveshaft is in.
Gas tank frame is welded up drilled and painted.
IM tired of drilling holes!
Once I get the tank in and the cross members drilled and bolted up IM on to the bed.
Then its brake lines and fuel lines and putting the booster and master cylinder on.
I have a new speedo cable to for a c4 to the old gauge conversion.
Big things are the steering box needs to come out. I have one I rebuilt setting in the garage. I need a trans cooler and I need an electric fan.
Thats all it needs to put it on the road.....yeah thats all....

Okay more pics.
Driveshaft is in. Cross members relocated and in, gas tank frame made and tank installed.

Anybody remember me saying a friend found a back bumper for me grown up in a tree???
Well here it is and it looks like some type of F100 rear bumper. 53+ anybody know?
Get this. It bolted right up to my stock brackets on my 51.
It needs alot of clean up but I have a bumper and it was free!
forgot to add it needs cut down...
