Skyjacker shocks
I bought my first set back in 1999 when Skyjacker was proud to claim "made in USA".
Those shocks lasted eight years before showing any signs of needing replacement.
Last November, I replaced them with another set of Skyjacker Nitros because I was very happy with the original purchase.
I gladly purchased the new ones instead of turning into the warranty dept. under the lifetime warranty.
First thing I noticed was "made in Mexico" was printed on shock and I was a little taken aback.
Come January (less than 2 months later), One of the shocks sprang a leak and was blowing hydraulic fluid all over the place.
I called Summit Racing (kudos to them for their customer service)and they replaced it for me.
I subsequently replaced the shocks on my FSB with new Skyjackers also, thinking that the blown shock was a fluke.
Much to my surprise, another shock that I purchased last November has sprung a leak too.
Thanks Summit for replacing this one also under Skyjackers lifetime warranty, but come on Skyjacker!! Where did the quality go??
I hope I'm not in for constantly dealing with blown shocks!!
Any similar stories about Skyjacker shocks?
