Expedition sub woofer replacement?

Expedition sub woofer replacement?
I have a 1997 Expedition EB with a Mach audio system. The sub woofer needs to be replaced. The dealer wants nearly $600.00 to replace. Does anyone know were I can get a replacement? As long as it fits I do not care of the manufacturer.

Do you mean that just the actual speaker part of the subwoofer needs replaced? if so just go to any place and get a good 8 10 or 12 inch sub, whichever yours is. I would recomend a rockford jensen MTX pioneer kenwood anything that a place is going to sell you will probably be as good as what you had.

What size is the woffer,sub-woffer it might be a 6 1\2 woffer,or 8"sub woffer the panals in the back pop right out.But look for any screws take them out and they should pop right out .I suggest you use a Free-Air sub-woffer for your Expedition it don,t require an enclosure"a box". Your local audio store should have them Pioneer or Kicker FREE-Air would be the best chioce.

MTX, JL Audio, and Q logic make enclosures that exactly fit expiditions. Crutchfield.com has MTX and Q logic. MTX has them with a woofer or without, and Q logic just has enclosures. JL audio is the best, but it is also the most expensive. JL's line is called the "Stealthbox". You can find JL products and dealers on their website @ jlaudio.com hope this helps you. TOM C.
