keyless entry
1998 F150 supercab XLT 4x4 off road 5.4L auto
bought my truck about 2 months ago, didint come with a remote for keyless entry, my dad noticed this and he said all XLT model trucks come with keyless entry. (hes a field technical specialist for ford or i would have called bs) and he gave me a ford remote
how do i know if my truck has keyless entry for sure

Do you have the owners manual for the truck? If not, you can get a pdf version of it here.

Click on "Owners Manuals" on the menu down the left side of the window and follow the prompts.
The programming instructions are at the bottom of page 46. Follow the instructions given there. If the truck responds as described, then it does indeed have keyless entry. Good luck!

I just converted my 98 to have factory power windows/locks/keyless etc and according to my factory ford manual wiring diagrams there were 98's that only had power locks and windows without the remote antitheft personality module that controls the keyless - so you may not. if you look under the dash above and to the left of the brake pedal there is a module box there for the keyless - or you can just cycle your ignition (don't remember how many time) on and off a set number of times and your doors will lock and unlock entering the programming mode for keyless.
