Mustang exhaust

What kind should I get for my Cobra? I want the very deep, throaty sound that identifies a mustang coming from a block away. A sound that "hits your chest" at idle and cruising speed. I can't remember if it was the Flowmaster 2 chambers that give the classic tone. I am considering a few options:
- flowmasters
- magnaflow
- SLP loudmouths
- Mac boom tubes
- bassini
- others?

then I don't know if I will replace the H-pipe and cats with high flow units and mufflers or just replace the mufflers. There is a substantial cost difference in those two options though.

I like how it sounds now and would like the same sound but deeper.
Thanks

I`m wondering about what mufflers to put on my 67 Mustang. I want something with a nice but no too loud rumble for highway cruising.

I have heard some really nice borla exhaust too.
Flowmaster sounds pretty good from the few I have heard.

As for whether to replace your cats and h pipe, you know your gonna kick yourself in the *** if you dont do it!

in my '83, on the highway it turns about 3g rpm's @105 km/h... it's not bad at all. i was told that a higher compression engine will result in a louder sound, makes sense.

I had a Borla dual cat back on a Chevy half ton - I liked the sound but maybe too quiet for some. I currently have a magnaflow dual cat back on my truck and I like it. On a muscle car I think most of the guys I know have flowmaster. My friend with the 440 6 pack cuda has a TPI (I hope I got that right) and he has flowmaster mufflers on his 440 challenger. He prefers the flowmaster sound but I like the sound of his TPI system.

3000 rpm at 105km/h? Your kidding right? That would be powerfull but terrible mileage! My 302 with the 5 speed (OD luckily) revs at 1600-1700.

My 65 has tri-y headers and cherry bomb exhaust which exits out in front of the rear tires. Has a nice sound when cruising, and really barks when you mash er right down.
I vote for magnaflow on your Cobra.

That sucks! Time for an OD bud!

I have a couple of cherry bombs on my 89 and they are actually not that bad. I dont think thats the kinda sound that colin wants on his stang though.
