Double DIN head unit

I need help installing a Clarion ADX5655z double DIN head unit in a 1998 F-150. This is going to require some modifications that I'm not sure I can handle. Anyone evry done anything like this or have any links to websites, etc. that might help me install this head unit? Any advice on diassembling the dash would be helpful as well. The trim ring pops right off, but I may need to remove more of the dash to make the necessary mods. Would I be better of to pay a pro installer 50-100 bucks to do this for me? Any help is greatly appreciated.

If you are unsure about custom dash work, pay someone to do it. I know it goes against working on your own truck, but it would be well worth it. Installers are good at their job, and they will ensure your deck looks great, that it is wired correctly, and most importantly, that your dash will not rattle once the installation is finished.

Good Luck

Hi
I have been installing as a hobby and I have done it as a job for a little longer than I care to admit but I will tell you that the reason why is because I have seen some supposid proffesionals do some real hack jobs. Sorry but I have to go against you on this one murph .No one will put as much pride into the job as you. Take your time and ask all the questions you need to . It once took me 16 hours to mod a single speaker grill in a ch**y cavelier. If you still do not feel comfortable with the job hire someone to do it, but demand to be in on the entire process and if something looks funny ,ask questions .
