This may be a long shot but I will give it a try. I have a 92 F150 I6 300. I am replacing the speakers that are in the rear behind the seat. It is a reg size cab. I took the old speakers out and removed the plug that connected the old speakers to the speaker wire. I have no idea which is the + and the - leads. I am hoping not to have to remove my deck to figure this out. Are there any kind of typical things at all, like the + lead being a brighter color or anything. Both wires have a white strip on them. Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Take a voltmeter and set it to 10 volts DC or whatever number is closest. Turn on the deck and touch one lead of the voltmeter to each connector in the speaker plug. If you get a positive reading the + lead of the voltmeter is on the + lead from the deck. If you get a negative reading the + lead of the voltmeter is on the - lead from the deck.
