Ok... so I ran across an old thread with a Sun Visor P/N 1014-1 by J-J Enterprises, but it seems the company may have gone out of business. The webiste was suposed to be www.j-jent.com
Does anyone have information on this company, or any ideas where I can get a quality SS sun visor for my truck? I really dig the nostalgic polished visor look, and I think it would compliment the stainless visors on my door windows.
I think J-J did go out of business, along with a lot of others in the past decade. I used to sell aftermarket auto stuff and I can tell you that we had a lot of complaints from customers who couldn't keep those SS visors from ripping off their roofs at highway speeds! They just had an incredible amount of mass to be up there obstructing airflow. I will agree with you 100% on their great looks, however. Just make a wise decision based upon how your truck is driven. There should be someone still making them, I would assume.
J+J is out of business. I talked with the owner 2 weeks before they closed to buy what he had left which was none. He was not making anymore either. I do have a brand new one in my basement from them. PM me if your interested.
Thanks for the info... I haven't seen the J&J design yet, but I have seen a design which had a lot of louvers in it for air pass-through.
I may end up having one fabricated, in which case I will go with a heavier gauge stainless and louvers to protect against detaching at highway speeds ;-)
My original plan with this was to put it on my 250. I just flat out don't have the ***** to start drilling in the cab, only reason it is not on the truck.
One of my old buddys had a visor that was different from the Lund and that one above. It was kind of like the one on this old chebby cool visor on Flickr - Photo Sharing!
but it was made out of fiberglass
any ideas?
Those Lund fiberglas moon visors don't look too bad on our trucks. I've got a brand new one with the built in clearance lights sitting in the attic in the box. I decided against it when I took the old one off and found that moisture had made it into the cab, and the whole front leading edge of my cab had to be cut off and new metal welded in.
If you can get a visor to seal well, they look pretty good, but I won't risk the moisture thing again. So, I'll end up selling the unit I've got. It comes in white, but should be painted to match. Also, the wiring just has to splice into your headlight harness.

GO Industries is also still in the fiberglass visor market - I'm sure there are others, but haven't really looked lately.
I'm holding off on the visor for now... need to spend my money on a pair of 1979 D60's Found a sweet deal and I shouldn't let it get away.
Thanks to Ranger429 for giving me some dimensions on the J-J Stainless visor... I may pursue having one fabricated, if I can pull some favors to get the louvers stamped and the edges rolled. I've also been looking at some of the Commercial Truck visors, and may incorporate some features from those designs as well.
I found this thread during a search for one of these visors..this is probably a really long shot 14 years later, but do you still have that J&J visor pictured?
