Hey guys! My truck is starting to seem real sluggish down low, feels worse then the turbo lag of a 6.0. When you nail the throttle from a stop it doesnt seem like theres much power there, and it takes forever for the turbo to spool up. I couldnt hardly pull a stuck toyota tacoma out without putting it in 4low, (it was very imbarassing) . Im running my truck on the stock tune, I just cleaned my Exhuast back pressure tube and changed the sensor, good oil, filters, intercooler tubes are good and sealed, and I dont see any major seepage from the up-pipes, maybe a little. I have a wicked wheel waiting to be installed, but Im trying to see If I have a problem elsewhere first. Thanks for any help! Adam
On the stock tune slow spooling is normal, once you go to a custom chip that will increase fueling up front, the lag will be less. DP tuner or TW, are the chips that have been proven to work best with our trucks.

Even a little means you have an exhaust leak. That can contribute to your problem.
If you've double and triple checked everywhere else for boost leaks, and you get the exhaust leak fixed, then the next possible cause would be oil or fuel issues. Your oil pressure from the HPOP might not be where it should, possibly from a bad ICP sensor or bad IPR. Also if you are losing fuel pressure, that can cause issues as well. I recently had a fuel pump start dying on me, so I know first hand how power is affected when fuel pressure drops dramatically.
Other things could be something like a dying torque converter. Just throwing out stuff. Go with the easy solutions first, like fixing what you know could be an exhaust leak.
ICP sensor = injection control pressure sensor. It's located on the driver's side oil rail behind the alternator.
IPR = injection pressure regulator. It's mounted on the bottom rear of the HPOP. You can pull it out without taking out the HPOP if you have a really really deep socket.
I would monitor your high oil pressure first before just swapping them out. Verify you have a problem there, then put in the correct parts. Same goes with fuel pressure. The PCM can see ICP pressure, duty cycle, and voltage to give you a reading of your high oil pressure if you have a diagnostic tool. However, there is no sensor for fuel pressure. A cheap gauge routed out of the hood and in sitting in sight somewhere in front of the windshield will work. Just don't ever run a fuel pressure gauge into the cab unless you are using an isolator.
well I did a little searching and found out the ICP and IPR are not cheap parts. You dont think this could be a turbo problem? Ive read a couple things about the wastegate acting up.
I had the old stock wastegate actuator break on me, and it affected top end boost much more than it did the bottom end, but I still had some nice lag to go with it. You can check it just by giving the actuator rod a tug. You shouldn't be able to move it by hand. Any kind of boost or exhaust leak really makes these trucks run like a pig.
I still think that if it's really that bad on the bottom end, it's more of a fueling or oil problem. But again, check the simple stuff first, ya never know!

Listen to this feller, cause it takes fuel to make heat to make boost, and oil drives the fuel train in this truck.....did you check your fuel filter?
Has new fuel filter, I hope its not an oil or fuel issue, I dont have the diagnostics to check that stuff, thanks for the help so far guys! Im gonna check all the little stuff out for now.
