Can anyone provide me with a URL for a website that has actual OEM parts w/o the forty tons of BS usually associated with the internet?
i am simply looking for the front seat assembly for a 1998 ford f150 and was hoping to find something as mundane as, say, a parts list? maybe a schematic or two, etc... but all I can find is after market crap, that may be just fine for whatever intended purpose it may have, but does not fit into the category of OEM Parts.
Your local FORD dealer would probably be happy to email you the pertinent pages from the "parts catalog". Mine will print such information out in person. For 10 YO parts that may be obsolete FORD dealers also have a national parts search, to find inventory at remote participating dealerships.
Trouble is if you can find "the front seat assembly for a 1998" in stock, its liable to cost nearly the value of the pickup to deliver! If you're just prospecting for the parts list, to learn how the seats are assembled, there's little in it for retailers.
Actual paper "parts catalogs" may have gone the way of the dinosaurs. Microfiche have also been made obsolete by digital files. A friendly local mechanic may share their repair software & print out what you want. Much detailed information, including P/Ns, is found in paper Service Manuals distributed by Helm.

Reason: left out a detail
Too bad greed is the sole motivator for most things today.......
I don't need the entire front seat assembly, I just want to find out how they put it together so that I can take it apart and replace the broken piece.
I guess I'll do it the old fahioned way by figuring out how to take it apart, figuring out how it works, and then repairing and reassembling it.
Ranger88...It is, I believe, a 60/40. I need the diagram of the fold down piece in the middle. The console cover is warping from the heat and I would like to repair/replace if possible without buying the entire front seat assembly.
Parts6906.... Will try and call tomorrow...logged on to late today.
Thank you guys for the positive replies
Direct Ford Parts has some diagrams, but sometimes its a pain to track down your part if you don't know the Ford part number. Most of the plastic trim pieces have shown up on their site by doing a search of the number stamped into the old part.
