My 00 v-10 was in a recent flood and completely underwater . I drained all the fluids and replaced them and let it set for about a week. I got it to run and it sounded fine. It ran for a good thirty mins and when I went to move it around our building, i hit a bump and it died. I cant get it to fire now. It is reading a p1633 code and when i erease it, it shows that it is still there. I noticed that the theft light stays on dim all the time and when you turn on the ignition, it gets brighter for 4-5 seconds and then goes back to dim. I done some research and found that the code is "keep alive low voltage" I was told to check pin 55 (red/white) at the PCM and I did it is reading 12.4.
Do you think I am looking in the right direction,..........what should I try
Intermittent... the circuit board is probably starting the corrosion process and some of the components are loose, caps, ics, diodes, etc.... so that bump probably loosen them up more. So Monsta is more than likely right, you'll need to replace or you can open them up and clean the circuit board with a tooth brush and acetone and resolder the joints. If you get it early you'll probably able to save the board b4 it starts to absorb the water. GL!
I have had some experience with flood cars in the past. Waterproof connections usually are not up to submersion in automotive.... strip the harness, clean with electrical contact cleaner, reassemble with dielectric grease. do every single one, engine included. Try it repeatedly until you get it.... could be a long process, worst 2 I ever did was a 1994 corvette and a Cadillac Allante? the imported one used in a movie dropping out the back of a cargo plane... both were difficult to diagnose.
Have you checked the battery terminals and made sure they are corrosion free and tight? Check the body grounds.
Yes all that is fine, I just towed it to the mechanic and he said he dropped the tank and cleaned it along with the lines and it fire up. So far it is running
