afe filter

hey guys i have a 07 6.0 with a mbrp straight pipe and a superchip flashpaq. I am planning on replacing my stock air filter with an afe pro guard 7 filter. i was wandering if anybody has done this to there trucks. Also what kind of improvements should i see.

I did it on mine, no noticable difference. It will flow slightly more at the expence of a little efficiency. The real benifit is its cleanable.

Stick with the stock air filter! Unless you are pushing over 500 hp you will gain nothing except the possible loss of warranty. Look to the tech folder for more on this.

I have the afe pro dry NO OIL! I didnt notice a differnce but it sure is cool looking when I open the hood and never have to buy a stock filter again, and I have a mbrp 5inch with no kitty I LOVE the way the turbo sounds!

yea i got a 4'' straight pipe and going up the hill in the middle of town is loud especially when it echos. kinda wish i would of put stacks on.

Not having to buy a new filter every change is nice, and they definately work and look good....

The stock filter will last 50,000 to 70,000 miles depending on road conditions. If I have to spend 15 to 30 minutes in that time span to change it, no problem. This is a complicated machine and I won't be risking warranties to save a couple of bucks. If you dust a turbo, that will buy many, many stock filters and you are not going notice any improvements with an after market. Get an oiled filter and take out your MAF sensor and see what that costs you. Just my opinion since this is a discussion forum.
