Cant say i notice a whole lot more turbo noise, but i spose once i get a chance to really stick it on cruise and go i may.
It was pretty funny though. I pulled out onto the highway and boggied on her, and i hit about 20 or 22 PSI, a little under where i max out, and i hear this POOF! So i pull over thinkin oh yeah now what did i blow up. Turned out i blew the bottom of the pipe off as i didnt have the clamp tight enough. So i sat on the side of the highway doin that up. At least i didnt have to pull the batttery and air intake box again!
Now here is my question. Im not a diesel guy, thats why i am here, to learn. But, there seemed to be a fair bit of oil residue inside the pipe and boot on both sides. Is this normal?
Did mine a little bit ago and only hear a difference with the rear sliding window open, then a little more with the S&B intake. Will be going with bigger exhaust soon and probably get some good tunes then.
Clean the pipe, and the boots. Some apply hair spray (after its cleaned to help stick), Ive always managed to luck out with just cleaning with the parts washer and rinsing with water. Havent blown a boot yet (knock on wood) and have spent quite a bit of time towing, and in the 20-25psi range.
Yes Pictures? I heard a little louder turbo noise. But have to listen for it. Hard to hear it in the cab. Neighbors heard it more than I. They said "what you got in that thing we didn't notice that before"
Every time i see a boost number of 20 my head goes down in shame.
I get 15 WOT. If i pull hose and stick it on clamp i get 17.
Setting up for a pressure leak test soon. All stock truck ,i heard that is all i will get. I checked all clamps and hoses.

Not true. I have a stock truck as well (well no chip anyways, 4" turbo back duals and 6637 intake) with the red hose to the wastegate unhooked. I can hit 22 PSI regular when I mat the go pedal, and while towing my 28' camp trailer I hit 26 PSI. You've got a boost leak somewhere.
For you guys doing the foil delete, check your pipe under the foil closely- I've seen photos on here of 2-3 that had a crack in them.
I think i can notice it a little on high idle. I am thinkin that around town it will be noticable. Really dont need it to be any louder.
My neighbor has a 01 Dodge with the Cummins and 4" strait pipe, and im runnin the 7.3L with 3.5 to 4" duals stacks. His little bro hates riding with me cause he says my truck is too loud! I say perfect!

If you already have stacks, you more then likely wont notice much of a change with a foil delete.
