I have a 1982 f150 with the inline six, it has 350,000 miles on it and still runs good and starts on the first crank.
the biggest problem i have with it is the electrical wiring
there is a lot of stuff in there that was installed by the previous owner, the stereo and windshield wipers are connected to the ignition on position, i am worried that this could be damaging the ignition system, there are also a number of wires that dont seem to do anything.
does anybody know where i could get factory wiring diagrams for this truck so i can get everything working like it should
The Haynes are good, but a little hard to read for the beginner. www.helminc.com has the factory manuals, and if they have them in stock, the electrical toubleshooting manuals are pretty good.
