Did you have any luck getting the glow plugs out?

Sorry about not answering sooner scatgo but I have been out of town.Yes I got both GP's out,I worked almost a full day removing the #8 although most of the time was spent trying to calculate my next step. I finaly cut a piece of steel brake line and drilled it to the same ID as the OD of the GP electrode(which is what was broken off in the GP hole about 3/8" above the seat) and long enough to get some leverage to wiggle the broken piece while soaking in PB Blaster. I had tried using a drift punch to tap it into the cylinder a tiny bit to free it from the carbon( as I had seen in one of the older Posts) but could not hold it centered on the electrode. Then I had an idea to cut a piece of 3/16" round bar long enough to come in contact down thru the brake line which held it perfectly centered and then pecked with a small hammer until I felt it move a tiny bit. I then took the old GP housing(that the mechanic had removed the rest of the broken electrode from and screwed back in to keep from blowing the broken piece thru the VC if it came loose) and screwed it in until it contacted the seat. I then sharpened the 3/16" round bar to a pencil point and went down thru the old housing and pecked it into the center of the broken piece of electrode swageing it tight to the housing and then carefully backed out the housing(2 threads out one thread in,etc) and came out with the broken piece!! One down...One to go!! The next day after work it took longer to get the passenger side VC off than it did to remove the broken GP!! Now I can start addressing the Inj. issues and hopefully have the old gal back on top as time permits.I have been aprehensive of working on PSD's because everyone told me how difficult they are but to me they are easier than the Bosch system in my 1450 Case Dozer that I have worked on alot.Wires are a lot easier to unhook than removing all those fuel lines that have no slack! I suppose this post is long enough so thanks for the encouragement and I will update as progress is made.
Thanks,
Tom
