Aftermarket CD changer

I plan on installing a CD player in my 97 F150. I think it would be easier to go with a CD changer due to the size of the factory deck. Any opinions on the best way to go?...Thanks

Aftermarket CD changer

Well you can go with a cd changer without replacing your factory stereo. The changer will have to be one that connects to your antenna plug in back of your radio. The way this works is you will plug it in to the back of your stereo, then run the antenna plug of your truck to the changer, and then just three simple wires, gorund, ignition, and battery. Then all you would have to do is find an FM station that does not work in your area and you will be able to play the changer through that.

Your second option would be to buy an aftermarket cd player to replace your factory one. This might be a litte harder to install if you havent done anything like that before because you will need a dash kit to make the radio fit into the opening, and a wiring kit to wire the stereo to your factory harness. Im sure you know you will also need some connectors for all the wires, and some splicers. In my opinion this would be better because an aftermarket stereo will have alot more power and allows for more options later on like adding an amp, changer, and on some even mp3 players, tvs and dvd players.

I just installed a Panasonic cd player in my Explorer and it made my factory speakers sound much better, and it has an input for me to add an mp3 player which I may get soon.
