Help us out here - what year radio and what style, and how about being a little more specific as to the problem. Get some more data and we'll see what we can figure out. One more thing- did it say "NO CD" or NO CDDJ"?
I have a 97 expy, eddie bauer with MAch system. The disc changer will pull cd's and try and read them and then the radio will display "NO CD". Radio works but can't play cd's.

Do you have rear seat audio controls?? If so, do they work?? Assuming things are the same on a 1997 system as they are on a 1999, you should be able to enable/disable the rear controls by pressing the 3 and 5 button simultaneously. We need to figure out if the communication lines are down between the radio and the changer, or whether the changer itself doesn't work. The radio uses the same communication lines to run the factory cell phone, the CD changer, and the rear seat controls.
Three more questions:
1. Did the CD changer ever work?
2. Did the changer come with the truck or was it installed afterwards?
3. Have you messed with any of the factory wiring, or is it all untouched??
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 14-Nov-01 AT 08:24 AM (EST)]CD changer is stock and worked previously. I have not messed with any of the wiring. Everything is stock and in its original form. Just stopped working one day. It does have rear controls, and I will check for any problems there tonight. All other componenets work, i.e. tape player, radio am and fm -- just tries to load CD's in magazinew, you can hear it cycle through all six and then displays "NO CD"
